Ulrich Schwarz is a professor for theoretical biophysics at Heidelberg University. He belongs to the Institute for Theoretical Physics and in addition to the BioQuant-Center for Quantitative Biology. In his research, he explores how concepts and methods from theoretical physics can be used and further developed to understand biological systems, in particular the mechanics, adhesion and migration of biological cells.
