Yara Elshiaty is a doctoral student in the group of Prof. Stefania Petra at the Institute of Mathematics. Her field of research is geometric optimization in imaging with special interest in statistical manifolds, information geometry and everything related to Bregman-divergences. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, cooking for her friends and complaining about the weather when it’s not sunny outside.
