Research interests:
optimal control of partial differential equations, optimal experimental design, optimization on manifolds, numerical linear algebra, scientific machine learning

Short summary of current research:
My research focuses on the development of efficient numerical methods for the solution of large-scale optimization problem mostly involving partial differential equations. Particular emphasis is put on the interplay of function space methods, their discretization, and numerical linear algebra. Furthermore, I am interested in theory and numerics of optimization on manifolds.
