Research interests:
Formation of the first generation of stars, galaxies, and black holes in the Universe, binary stellar evolution, compact object mergers, X-ray binaries, computational astrophysics
Short summary of current research:
I study the impact of binary stars on galaxy evolution in the early Universe and the resulting populations of X-ray binaries and binary black hole mergers. To do so, I couple the results from binary population synthesis with semi-analytical models and cosmological simulations. My theoretical predictions will be compared with local and early Universe observations (e.g., gravitational wave events, high-redshift galaxies, X-ray binaries and metal-poor stars in the Milky Way) to advance our knowledge of binary stellar evolution and early star/galaxy/structure formation.
