Research interests:
Star formation at present days and in the early Universe, dynamics of the interstellar medium, astrophysical turbulence, computational astrophysics, machine learning in astronomy.
Short summary of current research:
The primary research goal is to identify and characterize the physical processes that govern the birth of stars at present days and in the early universe. Scientific interests include gas dynamics and chemistry in the interstellar medium, formation and evolution of galaxies such as the Milky Way, statistical description of astrophysical turbulent flows, generation of magnetic fields and dynamo processes, stellar dynamics, design and optimization of numerical algorithms in computational astrophysics, as well as development and application of novel machine learning and data analysis methods.
