Short summary of current research:
My research focuses on the formation of Milky Way type galaxies in high-resolution cosmological hydrodynamical simulations. My main interest lies in the satellite galaxies of Milky Way type galaxies as cosmological probes of structure formation and the build-up of the stellar disc and its structure in a cosmological context. In order to study galaxy formation I employ state-of-the-art numerical simulations and modern machine learning tools to model the relevant physical processes governing the dynamics of the inter-stellar gas content and stellar populations of galaxies.
